Habitat Stepping Stones: Our local wildlife is doing it tough, create your own stepping stone to help them out.
Habitat = Food + Water + Shelter, this website provides an easy to navigate and clear set of ideas to enhance your garden to support the local wildlife by providing options for food, water and shelter. It even describes how to turn your pool into a pond...which can be reversed. Although designed for the Ku-ring-gai area is very relevant for our local area with all of the plants mentioned part of our local species mix.

LMCC's Backyard Habitat for Wildlife Program is free to join and provides an opportunity for residents to assist wildlife to survive in their local area.

The Land for Wildlife (LFW) program is a voluntary property registration scheme for landowners who wish to manage areas for biodiversity and wildlife habitat.

LFW encourages and assists landholders to include nature conservation along with other land management objectives.

The program is free for landholders to join and is not legally binding. Registration in the scheme will not change the legal status of a property.
The program offers:
  • Site assessments
  • Advice on suggested management strategies and actions for the property
  • Support and encouragement for landholders to carry out nature conservation on their land.

LMCC's Community Ecosystem Monitoring Program
